The role and opportunities

The TSE team within EY-Parthenon offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to navigate the complexities of mergers and acquisitions. Our team supports clients with the development, evaluation and end-to-end execution of their transaction strategy.

What is special about working in our team is that we engage with a broad range of stakeholders from the CEO to functional leads and that our projects are very different depending on the situation. This means that you will advise clients throughout the M&A lifecycle from due diligence, negotiations, day 1 operating model and post-merger integration (PMI).

We work across the following diverse areas, with the opportunity to specialize as you progress:

Integration & Divestments

In our integrate/divestment practice areas, you'll contribute to operational aspects of M&A transactions, helping to devise strategies, pinpoint synergies, and manage integration or carve-out processes across various business functions using specialized tools.

Deal Strategy & Value Creation
Within the space of deal strategy and value creation, you can contribute to our efforts to assist clients in achieving their strategic M&A goals by identifying cost-saving and synergy opportunities and guiding the implementation of value creation initiatives.

Technology
Finally, in our technology practice in TSE, you'll provide insights on technology assessments, system integrations, and software investments. You'll support clients in navigating M&A activities, achieving synergies, and exploring emerging technologies, while offering strategic advice on software market trends, product features, and value creation opportunities.

Your profile

  • You have an open and positive mindset. We are looking for people with a willingness to learn about strategic, tech and operational aspects of transactions.
  • You are enthusiastic and collaborate well in teams. You are inclusive and recognize the value that different backgrounds and experience bring to our work. You are passionate about people and wish to learn from and help develop those around you.
  • You have an interest in M&A. We are looking for people with a ‘can do’ attitude, and an interest in M&A.
  • Qualifications:
    • You are currently studying at your final year of your bachelor’s or first year of your master’s degree in economics, finance, IT, business administration, engineering or similar.
    • You are proficient in English, both oral and written.
    • Ideally, you can demonstrate a track record of relevant professional and/or extracurricular activities, e.g., student job, volunteering, internship, semester abroad etc.

If you proceed, you will get invited to a second, more detailed interview, with a case that won’t require any prior preparation. Lastly, a final interview with a Partner, prior to us offering you a position.
