About the job

You will be part of a team that supports our clients (Banks, Insurance, Asset Managers…) in creating and delivering their Internal Audit (IA) function and/or plan.  If needed, you also help companies assessing their IA function performance objectively and/or refreshing their strategy through a digital approach. You identify internal control gaps and deficiencies as well as improvement opportunities by assisting in the development of recommendations. You develop people through effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff. You use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. 

 

Client responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of internal audit engagements under the guidance of senior team members, focusing on compliance, operational, and financial audits.
  • Participate in client meetings and audit planning sessions to gain an understanding of client business processes and internal control systems.
  • Perform basic audit procedures, including testing of internal controls, transaction processing, and financial statement analysis.
  • Compile audit evidence and documentation to support audit findings and conclusions.

Assist in drafting sections of audit reports, highlighting issues and providing recommendations for improvement.

People responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with audit team members, contributing to a supportive and learning-oriented work environment.
  • Seek feedback actively and apply learning to improve performance continuously.
  • Participate in internal training programs to develop audit-related skills and knowledge.
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing audit efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the audit team in administrative tasks, such as data entry, file organization, and scheduling.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor’s  (Master ???) degree with specialization in Finance, Economics, Accounting, IT, or equivalent;
  • Fluency in English and French;

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Initial understanding of audit practices and principles through coursework or relevant internships.
  • Preliminary knowledge of the financial industry and Luxembourg regulatory environment. 
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or organizations that demonstrate teamwork and leadership skills.
  • A keen interest in pursuing professional certifications in the future, such as CIA, CRMA, or CISA.
  • B2 German level.
