Start your career journey – Aspects of the Programme

Throughout the 8-week Summer Internship programme at EY, you’ll receive a wealth of training in your chosen area to ensure that by the end of the summer, you will have gained skills to last you a lifetime.

However, we also want to provide our interns with an array of opportunities to expand their skillset outside of their day-to-day work and build their network during their time with us. Therefore, we have added lots of opportunities to get involved in throughout the programme.

What to expect

  • Day One: After a comprehensive induction, you will begin your journey as an intern within our Core Business Services Business. From day one, you will be assigned a buddy on your team who will help you get settled in, and ensure you are set up for a successful summer at EY.

  • Your Role: You’ll work as part of team, meet with clients, and make a real contribution to EY projects. We trust the students who join EY for the summer to make a real impact, and we encourage you to do so. You will develop analytical and problem-solving skills, learn how to network, build working relationships and how to lead and manage projects.

  • Work/Life Balance: Whilst there will be a certain focus on building your technical skillset, we also want to furnish our interns with the skills needed to manage their workload and create a healthy work/life balance. Throughout this 8-week programme, you will be invited to join us for sessions on a variety of wellbeing topics, as well as plenty of social outings so you can get to know your fellow colleagues and interns on the programme.

  • Get to know EY: No matter what programme you choose, we want you to get to know us and what we do. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to attend deep-dive sessions into Assurance, Tax, Strategy & Transactions and Consulting teams and more, so by the end of the summer you will have a great idea of the breath of opportunities at EY. Overall, the EY Summer Internship will offer you the chance to figure out if your chosen career path is the absolute right fit for you.

  • Compensation: The EY Summer Internship programme is fully paid - you will work for EY as if you were a full-time employee therefore, we believe you should be compensated as such.

Once you apply for the Summer Internship programme in Core Business Services, our teams will review your application and if successful, you will be invited to interview with either EY Ireland CBS – Admin & Workplace Services, Societal Values or our Communications team. *If you have a preference for one specific team, please include this preference in your application.

Admin & Workplace Services

The Admin & Workplace Services Team (AWS) is responsible for a number of key services that support the business. They include Real Estate & Facilities, IT, Creative and Executive Assistance Services.

The AWS team plays an important role in providing critical support to the organisation, managing the day-to-day operations of the workplace, providing support to all EY employees and ensuring that the business runs smoothly.

Some of the key skills required for the AWS role include strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. Additionally, having a customer-focused mindset and being able to adapt to changing business needs are also important skills for the role.

Societal Value Coordinator

The Societal Values team plays a critical role in helping to bring to life EY’s purpose and vision by helping us deliver on EY’s Societal Value ambitions.

This internship will provide you with an opportunity to support the Societal Values team develop and implement strategies and initiatives that deliver on our societal value ambitions under our three pillars – Society, Prosperity and Planet.

You will work as part of a talented team on a range of interesting projects, allowing you to bring the best of your creative and organisational skills to life.

This role provides an opportunity to work on projects that make a difference. You will also work closely with our Societal Value Office Lead promoting and implementing inclusive employment practices, helping to develop and manage programmes and initiatives that foster a diverse and inclusive workforce and encourage other organisations to do the same.

Communications Team

The EY Ireland’s Communications team plays a critical role in helping to bring to life our purpose and vision by delivering distinctive communications that have a measurable impact.

This internship will provide you with an opportunity to support on internal and external communications including helping the team to draft and disseminate press releases, schedule media briefings, help record engaging video content for an internal audience, support on best-in-class internal awareness campaigns, etc.

You will work as part of a talented Communications team on a range of interesting projects, allowing you to bring the best of your creative and organisational skills to life.

This role provides an opportunity to work collaboratively with our in-house creative and digital teams to promote our media activity and internal campaigns.
