The Opportunity
We currently have a career opportunity for a Staff professional in our Business Tax Services – Federal Tax Advisory Services (FTA) team, specializing in Cost Segregation. You will support EY’s National Tax Department (NTD), which serves high-profile domestic and multinational clients. The team is led by nationally recognized tax professionals and provides a range of transactional tax planning and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the FTA - Cost Segregation team, you will work closely with engagement teams in India and the United States on a variety of clients, including some of the largest global corporations and transactions. Your responsibilities include performing detailed quantity and cost estimates using standard cost manuals and construction drawings for depreciation studies. You will analyze construction drawings, contractors’ payment applications, and complete construction cost analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil or construction engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints across disciplines.
- Familiarity with construction cost-estimating manuals and building design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Experience with quantity surveying or take-offs.
- Understanding of tax depreciation rules and asset classification
