Your Key Responsibilities

As part of our Americas Tax Technology Group (ATTG) you will be part of a technology organization that develops and maintains innovative solutions for our client-serving Tax professionals. ATTG professionals partner with our Tax professionals to develop supporting technology such as digital/mobile tools to improve internal operations, application of Robotics Process Automation (RPA) to collect financial data, development of advanced financial dashboards, visualization, analytics, and reports.

As a Staff on our team, your role will include:

• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and build scalable applications using .NET, Python, and modern
• web technologies.
• Apply OOP and SOLID principles to develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Solve real-world problems using foundational DSA concepts and structured thinking.
• Assist in building and optimizing data processing pipelines and backend services.
• Participate in cloud-based development projects and gain hands-on experience with Azure.
• Contribute to containerized application development and deployment workflows.
• Work on frontend components using modern frameworks like Angular or Next.js.
• Take ownership of assigned modules and features, driving them from concept to production.
• Engage in code reviews and team discussions to continuously improve.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in software engineering, cloud computing, and full-stack development.

Skills and attributes for success

• To qualify for the role, you must have

• • A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; supported by a strong academic record.
  • Strong foundation in fundamentals, including:
    • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
    • SOLID design principles
    • Operating System basics
    • Core Computer Science concepts (e.g., memory management, multithreading, networking)
  • Basic understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and problem-solving in C#, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Working knowledge of either Python or C# (.NET).
  • Basic proficiency in web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing models: IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Basic Azure certification (e.g., AZ-900) or working knowledge of Azure services.
  • Awareness of containerization using Docker.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future

• Ideally, you will have

• • Exposure to Python-based data processing workflows.
  • Understanding of AI and Machine Learning concepts.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks like Angular or Next.js.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services beyond certification.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $64,000 - $80,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
• Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
• Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
