Join us at the forefront of our globally coordinated Tax and Law practice, where we tackle complex challenges and invite you to be an integral part of our mission.
You can also express interest in the following specific Tax specialisms, though this is optional.
What We Offer:
Corporate Tax: Dive into the world of domestic and multinational companies across diverse sectors and business models, helping them navigate tax planning, tax policy, controversy management and compliance. Be part of a team that adapts to ever-changing national and international tax laws brought about by global tax reform, including the new OECD “Pillar Two” minimum tax initiative.
Indirect Tax (VAT): Enjoy the variety of advising on VAT issues across countries. One day you could be working on property sales in Ireland and the next advising on international supply chains around the globe.
Private Client Services: Work closely with high-net-worth individuals, guiding them through their personal tax affairs including planning, estate management and asset protection. Your insights will help shape their financial futures.
Transfer Pricing: Assist multinational companies in pricing and documenting intercompany transactions. Use your skills in economics, tax, law, and finance to analyse the business operations of multinational companies to ensure compliance with international tax rules and manage risk across global markets.
What we look for:
You have an agile, growth-oriented mindset. What you know matters. But the right mindset is just as important in determining success. We’re looking for people who are innovative, can work in an agile way and keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
You are curious and purpose driven. We’re looking for people who see opportunities instead of challenges, who ask better questions to seek better answers.
You are inclusive. We’re looking for people who seek out and embrace diverse perspectives, who value differences, and team inclusively to build safety and trust.
You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions.
Qualifications: We welcome interns from all backgrounds and disciplines who are on track to achieve a 2:1 or higher in their degree. English is the business language of our firm. To ensure all candidates can fully participate in our programmes and workplace, we require evidence of proficiency in both written and spoken English.
What to expect:
Day One: After a comprehensive induction, you will begin your journey as an intern. From day one, you will be assigned a buddy on your team who will help you get settled in, and ensure you are set up for a successful summer at EY.
Your Role: You’ll work as part of team, meet with clients, and make a real contribution to EY projects. We trust the students who join EY for the summer to make a real impact, and we encourage you to do so. You will develop analytical and problem-solving skills, learn how to network, build working relationships and how to lead and manage projects.
Work/Life Balance: Whilst there will be a certain focus on building your technical skillset, we also want to furnish our interns with the skills needed to manage their workload and create a healthy work/life balance. Throughout the programme, you will be invited to join us for sessions on a variety of wellbeing topics, as well as plenty of social outings so you can get to know your fellow colleagues and interns on the programme.
Get to know EY: No matter what programme you choose, we want you to get to know us and what we do. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to attend deep-dive sessions into Assurance, Tax, Consulting, EY Parthenon teams and more, so by the end of the summer you will have a great idea of the breath of opportunities at EY. Overall, the EY Summer Internship will offer you the chance to figure out if your chosen career path is the absolute right fit for you.
Compensation: The EY Summer Internship programme is fully paid - you will work for EY as if you were a full-time employee, therefore, we believe you should be compensated as such.
Future Opportunities: At the end of your internship if we think you will be a great fit for our team longer term, and you are interested in a career at EY, we may even offer you a graduate position!
