The opportunity

Now is an exciting time to join the EY Assurance group as we help clients navigate complex data analytics challenges. Our Data and Intelligence Delivery (DID) team specializes in collecting, combining, and exploring data to create insights that support our clients' decision-making processes. We assist organizations in improving data integrity and quality, enabling more reliable reports and insights in accounting, finance, governance, and regulatory matters.

You’ll find that every day at EY is a new opportunity, as you’ll have plenty of variety working in different sectors, from banking to pharmaceuticals to energy — where you’ll learn extensively about different workflows and IT infrastructures. We’ll need you to become a specialist, mastering the fundamentals and guiding clients through complex data analytics situations. You’ll learn a broad range of analytical tools and technologies and develop an intimate knowledge of our clients’ systems and processes.

As a DID Intern, you will be introduced to various service offerings and analytics toolsets during an extensive on-the-job training program. Once you have developed the necessary skills, you will have the opportunity to assist local and global engagement teams on various projects, ranging from data analysis to insights generation, depending on your interests and capabilities.

Your key responsibilities

  • Collect, combine, and explore data to create insights that support client decision-making processes.
  • Perform quality checks on data deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs for clients.
  • Proactively communicate project and task status to various stakeholders.
  • Develop strong relationships among team members and build productive working relationships with clients to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Utilize technology to continually learn and develop skills in data analytics and visualization.
  • Collaborate with team members to think critically and assist in the development and integration of enhanced policies, processes, and technologies that will address clients’ needs.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A strong critical thinking skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.
  • Curious about data, analytics, automation, AI, and emerging technology.
  • Comfortable learning new tools and solving unfamiliar problems.
  • Detail-oriented, especially when reviewing data, testing outputs, and documenting work.
  • 3.0 cumulative college/university GPA

Ideally, you will have

  • Client service experience, especially in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and data visualization technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with product design and UI/UX
  • Familiarity with relational database design and management.
  • Academic, internship, capstone, case competition, hackathon, portfolio, GitHub, or personal project experience involving data, analytics, automation, dashboards, AI, or technology-enabled problem solving.
  • Experience building or contributing to dashboards, reports, data analysis, data cleaning, scripts, automations, AI prototypes, or business-facing insights.
  • Cumulative college/university GPA of 3.2 or above

  • The hourly pay range for this job, in the US, is $37.50 to $48.08 per hour. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
