Within the Tax & Law service line, the Tax Technology Office architects and operates a unified technology, data and AI ecosystem that accelerates innovation without compromising trust. You work on both client missions in AI and technology, helping organizations move beyond pilots into industrialized, auditable solutions, and on internal business-critical platforms that reshape the way our own Tax & Law service line operates, always with governance embedded by design rather than bolted on afterwards. From identification to deployment, measured in time saved, quality improved and value created. Depending on your interests and background you can specialize in Solution Development & Service Management, Innovation & Adoption, Technology Legal & Compliance, or Go-to-Market.”

Your role

As a Junior Developer within the Tax Technology Office, you will help transform ideas into working solutions. You will work alongside experienced developers, architects, tax professionals and business stakeholders to rapidly prototype new applications, automate manual processes and support the evolution of our technology landscape.

Your mission is to help us move fast: turning concepts into tangible products, validating business needs, and freeing senior developers to focus on architecture, scalability and strategic initiatives.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modern web applications and internal tools
• Support the creation of rapid prototypes, proofs of concept and MVPs
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
• Contribute to automation initiatives that increase efficiency and productivity
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment
• Work closely with senior developers and learn industry best practices
• Collaborate with tax, legal and technology professionals across EY
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our applications and development standards
• Support testing, troubleshooting and maintenance activities
• Learn how to leverage AI-assisted development and emerging technologies to accelerate delivery

This is you

• You hold, or are about to graduate with, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Engineering or a related field
• You have a genuine interest in software development and technology innovation
• You have experience with object-oriented programming, preferably in .NET / C#
• You are familiar with web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, HTML and CSS
• You have an interest in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is a plus
• You enjoy solving problems and turning ideas into working solutions
• You are eager to learn, take ownership and continuously improve your skills
• You can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• You are comfortable working in an Agile environment
• You enjoy working as part of a team while being able to take initiative independently
• You are curious about AI-assisted software development, automation and emerging technologies
• You are fluent in English. Dutch and/or French are a strong asset
• You thrive in a dynamic environment where ideas quickly become reality
• Bonus: you're familiar with AI-based coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Replit, Cursor) and know how to use them to boost productivity.
